New 360 Controller Features a Raised D-Pad (Finally!)

Posted by _VIDEO-GAMER_ on September 1, 2010 at 7:41 PM

Major Nelson just showed off a pretty new 360 controller that is sure to make all the fighting game fans happy. The disc-shaped d-pad on current 360 controllers has long been the bane of Hadoukens, but Microsoft seems set on making things right. This new controller features the ability to change the d-pad "from a plus to a disc with the twist of the wrist," and the A, B, X, and Y buttons have changed to gray as well "for added style." Good luck playing Boom Boom Rocket with this thing!

This new controller will be included only in Microsoft's new Play & Charge Kits that release on November 9 in the U.S. for $64.99. Check out Major Nelson's reveal video below, and you can see the new hotness firsthand. He'll also be giving away a few of these things if you stop by his live podcast recording at PAX Prime this weekend.
